NEW THREAT - Attendees at an upcoming free speech rally have been threatened with acid attacks via social media.

Attendees at an upcoming free speech rally have been threatened with acid attacks via social media.

(Big League Politics) – A man, possibly a Rolling Stone journalist who writes favorably about Antifa, has threatened to attack attendees of the Demand Free Speech rally with “muriatic acid, wax, and balloons” on July 6 in Washington, D.C.

The threats were made on a popular right wing Telegram channel. A user with the name “POUND ON YOUR BOY” made several threats against the rally, prompting co-organizer Enrique Tarrio to contact the FBI and DHS, who are now planning to provide additional security to the event.

Over the course of about 10 minutes last night, the “POUND ON YOUR BOY” account asked how the D.C. event is “coming along”, and referenced muriatic acid multiple times.
“I just want to toss as many balloons of Muriatic acid in the faces as many Proud Boys I can [sic]”, wrote the user, “I just want to blind as many of you c**k suckers are possible [sic].”
He continued making threats, and eventually concluded his participation in the Telegram channel with “We already have the Muriatic acid, wax, and balloons.”

A DOZEN AIRFORCE FIGHTER PLANES SENT TO PERSIAN GULF AMID HEIGHTENED SECURITY

The military deployed nearly a dozen Air Force fighter jets to the Persian Gulf state of Qatar this week amid escalating tensions with Iran and threats against American forces in the region.

The F-22 Raptors arrived Thursday to al-Udeid air base, the hub for U.S. air operations in the Middle East. In a statement, U.S. Central Command said the planes were being deployed to Qatar for the first time to "defend American forces and interests."

The planes carry air-to-air missiles and can perform ground attack missions. The military used the F-22s last year in support of U.S. and allied forces in Syria.

Tensions in the region between Washington and Teheran have heightened in recent weeks. In May, President Trump deployed the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group and a B-52 bomber task force to send a "message to the Iranian regime that any attack on United States interests or on those of our allies will be met with unrelenting force.”

The Supreme Court has agreed to decide whether plans by the Trump administration to end the so-called DACA program for young undocumented immigrants can proceed.

FOXNEWS -

The Supreme Court has agreed to decide whether plans by the Trump administration to end the so-called DACA program for young undocumented immigrants can proceed.

The justices announced Friday they will hear oral arguments on the appeal in its next term, which begins in October. A ruling is expected in the presidential election year, putting the high court at the center of one of the most politically charged issues.

Federal appeals courts around the country have rejected efforts by the federal government to move ahead with phasing out the Obama-era program, known as the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA.

DACA was created under executive order, and gives some illegal immigrants -- known as "Dreamers" -- who were brought to the United States as children the opportunity to receive a renewable two-year reprieve from deportation and become eligible for a work permit.https://www.foxnews.com/politics/supreme-court-to-decide-whether-trump-administration-can-end-daca-program

The 2020 Democratic presidential field is a "clown car" and the candidates have begun a race to the left, according to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.

The 2020 Democratic presidential field is a "clown car" and the candidates have begun a race to the left, according to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.

Democrats endorsed policies far outside the mainstream of American politics, Cruz claimed Thursday on "Hannity."

"The debate last night -- the clown car is broken," he claimed.

"There is no brake and it only steers left. It was scary last night. It was scary to see the Democrats -- every one of them -- falling all over each other to get further and further and further left.

"You saw them embrace late-term abortions, you saw them embrace 70 percent tax rate, you saw them embrace socialism. You saw them tell the American people they want to take away everyone's health insurance. And, you saw them embrace open borders."

The Senate Judiciary Committee member pointed to one debate moment he found particularly questionable.

"One of the most disturbing exchanges was when several of those candidates began saying they wanted to eliminate the provision in law that makes it illegal to cross the border," he said.

"As you know, last month, we apprehended over 144,000 people in the month of May crossing illegally. The Democratic solution is 'let's not make it a crime.' ... That is open borders. It is irresponsible, and it is sadly where the Democratic Party is today."

One Democrat in the 2020 field, onetime Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro, pushed back against conservatives who are claiming he is advocating for an open-borders approach.

SUPREME COURT - Supreme Court says federal judges have no role in policing gerrymandering, leaving political maps in place By Ronn Blitzer, Bill Mears | Fox News

Supreme Court says federal judges have no role in policing gerrymandering, leaving political maps in place

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/supreme-court-blocks-citizenship-question-in-2020-census-for-now

Gerrymandering is a practice intended to establish a political advantage for a particular party or group by manipulating district boundaries.
The term is named after Elbridge Gerry, who, as Governor of Massachusetts in 1812, signed a bill that created a partisan district in the Boston area that was compared to the shape of a mythological salamander.
In addition to its use achieving desired electoral results for a particular party, gerrymandering may be used to help or hinder a particular demographic, such as a political, ethnic, racial, linguistic, religious, or class group, such as in Northern Ireland where boundaries were constructed to guarantee Protestant Unionist majorities.
The U.S. federal voting district boundaries that produce a majority of constituents representative of African-American or other racial minorities, known as "majority-minority districts". Gerrymandering can also be used to protect incumbents.
The term gerrymandering has negative connotations. Two principal tactics are used in gerrymandering: "cracking" (i.e. diluting the voting power of the opposing party's supporters across many districts) and "packing" (concentrating the opposing party's voting power in one district to reduce their voting power in other districts).[1] A third tactic, shown in the top-left diagram in the graphic to the right, is homogenization of all districts (essentially a form of cracking where the majority party uses its superior numbers to guarantee the minority party never attains a majority in any district).

Republica Dominicana-

MASSIVE UPSET Tiffany Cabán Claims Shocking Queens District Attorney Primary Win

MASSIVE UPSET

UNDERDOG SHAKE UP AGAINST THE DEMOCRAT ESTABLISHMENT!!!

Tiffany Cabán Claims Shocking Queens District Attorney Primary Win

Another earthshaking political upset roared through Queens, New York, on Tuesday night when Tiffany Cabán claimed victory in a six-person primary race for Queens District Attorney—the first competitive race there in a generation.
Her leading opponent, Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, trailed by just over 1,000 votes with 3,400 paper ballots outstanding and the Associated Press had the race as to close call Wednesday. But in even matching the support of the once formidable Queens machine nearly a year to the day after Alexandria Ocasio-Cortezshocked the national political scene with her primary upset win against powerful House Democrat Joe Crowley, Cabán's performance in a borough-wide race marked a new high-water mark for the rising left.

House Passes Senate Border Bill in Striking Defeat for Pelosi

House Passes Senate Border Bill in Striking Defeat for Pelosi

- NYTIMES REPORT

The final vote, 305 to 102, included far more Republicans in favor, 176, than Democrats, 129. It left House liberals furious.
“In order to get resources to the children fastest, we will reluctantly pass the Senate bill,” Ms. Pelosi said in a letter to Democratic lawmakers. “As we pass the Senate bill, we will do so with a battle cry as to how we go forward to protect children in a way that truly honors their dignity and worth.”

Her retreat came after Vice President Mike Pence gave Ms. Pelosi private assurances that the administration would abide by some of the restrictions she had sought. They included a requirement to notify lawmakers within 24 hours after the death of a migrant child in government custody, and a 90-day time limit on children spending time in temporary intake facilities, according to a person familiar with the discussions.

A last-minute revolt by centrist lawmakers ensured the demise of Ms. Pelosi’s efforts to toughen the conditions in the Senate’s $4.6 billion bill. The moderate Democrats had begun to worry about the possibility of leaving Washington on Friday for a weeklong July 4 recess without having cleared the humanitarian aid, and some were balking at a funding reduction for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. That left the House floor in chaos, with emotions running high.

Ms. Pelosi was left with little choice but to accept the less restrictive Senate bill, which had passed on a lopsided bipartisan vote this week and would do far less to rein in Mr. Trump’s immigration crackdown.

Ms. Pelosi resisted bowing to the Senate until the end, maneuvering for days among the competing factions in her ranks to try to find a set of restrictions to rein in Mr. Trump’s immigration crackdown that would satisfy progressives without alienating moderates and lawmakers from Republican-leaning districts.
The final vote badly divided the party, including at its highest levels. The leaders themselves split, with Representative Steny H. Hoyer of Maryland, the majority leader; Representative James E. Clyburn, the whip; and Cheri Bustos, the campaign chief, all supporting the bill. Much of the younger, second tier of leaders — including Representative Hakeem Jeffries of New York, the caucus chairman; Representative Ben Ray Luján of New Mexico, the assistant speaker; and Representative Katherine M. Clark of Massachusetts, the caucus vice chairwoman — voted “no.”
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus issued a blistering statement calling the measure “a betrayal of our American values.”

“This bill — opposed by the Hispanic caucus and nearly 100 Democratic members of the House — will not stop the Trump administration’s chaos and cruelty,” the statement said. “What happened today is unacceptable, and we will not forget this betrayal.”

Liberal Democrats were left fuming. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York called the decision “an abdication of power we should refuse to accept.” The Trump administration, she said, “will keep hurting kids if we do.”
Representative Mark Pocan, Democrat of Wisconsin and a chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, scathingly singled out the Problem Solvers Caucus, a group of 23 moderate Democrats and 23 Republicans who lobbied lawmakers to accept the Senate measure, asking on Twitter, “Since when did the Problem Solvers Caucus become the Child Abuse Caucus?”
The moderates were livid about the comment, which Representative Max Rose, Democrat of New York, said, “Just speaks to why everyone hates this place.”

FOXNEWS-

The bill passed 305-102.

Coalition of moderate Democrats and Republicans approved crucial border funding legislation late Thursday in the House, sending the $4.6 billion bill to President Trump's desk for his expected signature -- after Speaker Nancy Pelosi backed down from a push to include restrictions on immigration enforcement that could have scuttled the measure.

The decision is sure to fuel new unrest inside the caucus. Perhaps the most outspoken member of the progressive wing, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., had declared "Hell no" to voting on the Senate bill.

Measures sought by liberal members included those to ensure the health and safety of those in custody, limit the amount of time unaccompanied minors can spend at an influx shelter to 90 days, and reduce funding for ICE by $81 million.

But the House vote would still ease a cash crunch at federal agencies that care for migrants that have flocked over the border in huge numbers seeking asylum. Vivid and painful accounts of harsh, even dangerous conditions at badly overcrowded federal facilities that house and care for thousands of migrants added to the pressure to act.

“House Speaker Nancy Pelosi abruptly backed down Thursday from her push to include restrictions on immigration enforcement in a must-pass border funding bill, moving instead to bring a bipartisan Senate version for a vote following intense pressure from Republicans and moderates in her own party,” reports Fox News.
“At stake is a critical $4.5 billion bill to combat the humanitarian crisis at the southern border, which lawmakers want to pass before Congress leaves for the July 4 recess. The Senate already approved its bill 84-8 on Wednesday, after rejecting an earlier House version,” adds Fox.
“In order to get resources to the children fastest, we will reluctantly pass the Senate bill. As we pass the Senate bill, we will do so with a Battle Cry as to how we go forward to protect children in a way that truly honors their dignity and worth,” Pelosi told her colleagues.
Progressives -including Rep. Ocasio-Cortez- railed against Pelosi’s decision.
“Under no circumstances should the House vote for a McConnell-only bill w/ no negotiation with Democrats. Hell no,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., tweeted. “That’s an abdication of power we should refuse to accept. They will keep hurting kids if we do.”
“The Shelby-Leahy legislation has unified the Appropriations Committee. It has unified the Senate. The administration would sign it into law,” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said in a statement. “So all our House colleagues need to do to help the men, women, and children on the border this week is pass this unifying bipartisan bill and send it on to the president.”

The House passes a bill to send $4.5 billion in emergency aid to the southern border.

BREAKING: House vote on H.R. 3401 -- the House Democrats border crisis supplemental spending bill. Bill lacks funding for ICE and Border Patrol salaries. House Republicans are offering a Motion to Recommit to add ICE funding back into the bill.

  • The House passes a bill to send $4.5 billion in emergency aid to the southern border.
  • The Senate is expected to pass its own version of the bill, while the White House has threatened to veto both pieces of legislation.
  • The measure's passage comes as the Trump administration faces backlash over the treatment of migrant children at a Texas detention facility.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in the Pacific Northwest are taking the unusual step of criticizing Washington state’s new sanctuary state law and giving detailed examples of the danger they believe it presents to the public.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in the Pacific Northwest are taking the unusual step of criticizing Washington state’s new sanctuary state law and giving detailed examples of the danger they believe it presents to the public.

Meantime, Washington state just passed what some immigration advocates are calling the strongest sanctuary state law in the country. It forbids local jails and state prisons from honoring ICE immigration detainers and even prevents corrections officials from even letting ICE know about the pending release of a criminal illegal immigrant. The law also instructs the attorney general to draft new rules restricting ICE agents from making immigration arrests at courthouses and hospitals.

In signing the law, Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee reportedly said, “We will not be complicit in the Trump administration’s depraved efforts to break up hard-working immigrant and refugee families.”

It's officially shark season and so far three great whites have been spotted in Cape Cod as of Monday afternoon.(6/24/19)

Two great whites were seen in the Cape Cod Bay, according to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy's Sharktivity app.

A third shark was spotted by the Chatham harbormaster on Monday morning.

That shark was reportedly 13-feet-long and was seen eating a seal near Monomy Island, according to the Cape Cod Chronicle.

Researchers on Cape Cod are launching a new study focused on the hunting and feeding habits of the region's great white sharks following last year's two attacks on humans, including the state's first fatal one in more than 80 years.

The hope is that the work contributes critical information to the ongoing debate over how to keep Cape beachgoers safe, said state marine biologist Greg Skomal, who has been studying the region's great whites for years and is leading the new effort.
